The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the intellectual hub of the UO. CAS undergraduate students are pursuing research projects in every imaginable field: from history to biochemistry to folklore. Students come away from these projects with not only answers (or more questions!) but also portfolios of skills in communications, analysis, collaboration and problem-solving. Simply put, they acquire exactly the kinds of liberal-arts skills many employers look for in a prospective employee.
These are just a few of the amazing research projects our CAS students have conducted:
Hunting an elusive particle at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva
Teaming with computer programmers to investigate privacy protections
Our goal is to make research opportunities available to even more CAS undergraduate students. That’s why we're launching the new CAS Undergraduate Research Fund.
How You Can Help
Give. When Ducks flock together great things materialize. That’s why our goal is 100 donations of any amount $5 and above. To help us get to our goal, several generous donors have pledged challenge gifts to encourage giving throughout the day. Help us unlock these challenges, and make a difference on a College of Arts and Sciences student.
