UO Alumni Association
Support student career development through networking opportunities & professional readiness events

The UO Alumni Association is committed to preparing our current Ducks for success after graduation. To accomplish this, our affiliated student group, the Student Alumni Association, provides networking and professional development opportunities for current students. These events focus on connecting current students with alumni to foster a professional learning environment, creating mentoring relationships, and sharing alumni advice for career success.

We believe that ability to pay should not be a barrier to career readiness, so the Student Alumni Association is committed to making sure that our on-campus networking and professional development events are always free for students and that off-campus program fees are as low as possible with the possibility of fee waivers for those in financial need.

Help prepare current Ducks for post-graduation success and support our student initiatives by giving to the Alumni Excellence Fund today!

A few of our favorite student programs include:

Networking Spring Break

An award-winning program*, Networking Spring Break is an opportunity for students to spend their spring break doing company/organizational site visits hosted by alumni to learn about their work and career paths. Trip destinations have included Seattle and San Francisco. A gift to the UOAA’s student initiatives will help allow us to keep student costs for this trip minimal and provide trip fee waivers for low-income students, allowing them to attend this trip for free.

*The Student Alumni Association is the recipient of an Outstanding Student Advancement Program award for District VIII of CASE, our professional organization. District VIII covers the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada. This program is now in the running for a National award through CASE.

Etiquette Dinner

A favorite at the University of Oregon, many of our alumni have attended the Etiquette Dinner throughout the decades. Reaching back to the 1980s, thousands of UO students have learned business dining etiquette at this event. Partnering with the Career Center and schools across campus, students learn everything they need to be prepared for their first business dinner while connecting with local alumni and employers. A gift to the UOAA’s student initiatives will allow us to continue to expand this program, opening it to more student participants and alumni table hosts each year and creating new major-specific networking dinners.

Networking Lunches with Alumni Chapters

Including students in our regional alumni chapter events allows them to make connections in their hometown, while giving alumni the opportunity to share their advice and create relationships with students even if they are unable to return to campus. Events like our Networking Lunches with Alumni Chapters show students the reach of the alumni network and create strong networks for both current and former Ducks everywhere that Ducks live. A gift to the UOAA’s student initiative will allow us to continue to offer discounted or free registration to participating current students.
