Presidential Priorities

“This is our moment. We must work together in common cause to make this university as great as it can be.”

-President Michael H. Schill

As we near the midpoint of our $2 billion campaign, the University of Oregon is at a pivotal point. We have a new president who brings with him a wealth of experience and enthusiastic leadership. We have much to accomplish over the next few years to achieve our goals on behalf of UO students. We need your help to accomplish these priorities.

#DucksGive is a day to rally the entire university community around President Schill's top 3 priorities to enhance the UO’s reputation as a world-class university:

  1. Building our tenure-related faculty and promoting academic research.
  2. Ensuring affordability and access for our students.
  3. Delivering a rich, excellent educational experience for our students.

Make a gift to PathwayOregon, a scholarship program that covers the remaining cost of tuition for Pell-eligible Oregonians who graduate high school with a 3.0 GPA or better. Pathway is more than just a scholarship. It's a promise to our in-state students that if you work hard, you can attend Oregon's flagship university, and we will help you succeed.

Or support the President's Fund, President Schill's discretionary fund which provides him a pool of money to distribute to the areas of greatest need on campus. When a piece of equipment breaks, or a new and exciting initiative needs funding, the President can use this money to fill the funding gaps.

Make a gift to the Graduate School Dean's Excellence Fund to support graduate education and students at the University of Oregon. Graduate students are critical to the UO's academic mission. They support our faculty in conducting top-notch research, contribute new knowledge to the world, and mentor and educate our undergraduates.

Donate to the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation to support and empower the UO's faculty and students to conduct transformative research, create new knowledge, and explore innovative ideas that create solutions for problems facing our community and the world. Donations to this fund will provide extra money for research projects and accelerate the university's pursuit of academic excellence.

WOW.
May 20, 2016

When we set out to start the #DucksGive tradition, we never imagined how far it would go. But you made it huge. We're still tabulating final numbers, but our current numbers say 1502 donors and $1,824,400.

We'll be taking a look at the breakdown in the coming hours to find out the true extent of the amazing impact this money will have, but first, we just want to say thank you.

Whether you made a gift, shared a post, or mentioned the campaign to a friend, you were part of #DucksGive, and we couldn't have done it without you.

So thank you. When Ducks work together, we can do so much more than we ever could alone.

Sincerely,

The University of Oregon

P.S. If you missed your chance to make a gift during #DucksGive, you can still give online at giving.uoregon.edu.
