For many students, surprise expenses can spell disaster. When a student is struggling financially, a sudden illness, death in the family, or loss of work hours can lead to a leave of absence or withdrawal. The Students in Crisis Fund makes an important difference to keep students enrolled and help overcome unexpected financial barriers, big or small, as quickly as possible.
During the pandemic, this fund became a lifeline for students and UO alumni and friends rallied to help. Thanks to the generosity of our Duck community, the Students in Crisis fund has awarded $1,100,899 to 1,769 students since March 2020 to assist with unexpected medical bills, rent, groceries, daycare expenses, and other financial hardships caused by circumstances beyond their control.
Moved by the stories of students impacted, members of our Parents Leadership Council have now generously endowed the Students in Crisis Fund in order to provide sustainable support for students now and for generations to come.
Every gift counts to a student in need. Support the Students in Crisis fund during Ducks Give to help provide students with critical funds for emergency circumstances and keep them on track to graduate.
