The UO's International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) programming facilitates positive transformation for all involved:
• ICSP students witness positive transformation in themselves and their ICSP cohort members as they gain intercultural awareness and public speaking skills that will ultimately help them become leaders and changemakers in the U.S. and abroad.
• Community partners working with ICSP experience positive transformation through personal interaction with ICSP students. Individuals of all ages and walks of life become more globally aware, curious, and engaged.
ICSP has a nearly 40-year legacy of providing scholarships to the best and brightest high-need students from all over the world so they can study at the UO. ICSP scholarships lighten the burden of tuition fees. Yet, ICSP recipients still struggle with expenses of student life and unexpected economic hardship. Sometimes, travel costs and other university fees make it impossible for scholarship awardees to accept a place on ICSP. After arriving at the UO, events in ICSP students’ home countries and family hardships can force students to abandon their studies.
The past year has brought additional challenges, with students and their families facing loss of income and unexpected expenses. New ICSP students have started their studies from abroad and have yet to set foot on the UO campus. The UO hopes to provide maximum support for these students once they arrive in Eugene.
Your gift to the International Cultural Service Program Scholarship Fund will help current and future ICSP students pursue their dreams by allaying unmet extra-tuition expenses. With enough funding, additional ICSP scholarships and tuition assistance may even be possible.
“ICSPers” are extraordinary students in diverse fields. With your help, they can focus on their education and join the hundreds-strong group of successful UO ICSP alumni!
We did it! With your help, UO's International Cultural Service Program (ICSP) has received an additional $500 from Stefan and Michele!
Please click to view a special thank you message from current ICSP student Noelyne Leni Alitema from Uganda. Noelyne is a junior majoring in international studies and minoring in legal studies. I am including a transcript of her message below.
Thank you again for your support. With your help, more ICSP students will be better able to pursue their studies and help the UO and Eugene meet the world.
Your gift is truly appreciated by all of us who are members of or have been touched by the ICSP family!
Go Ducks!
With very best wishes and gratitude,

Video transcript:Thank you for helping us unlock Stefan and Michele's ICSP family challenge gift of $500! My name is Noelyne Alitema and I am a current ICSP student. I am a Junior majoring in international studies with a focus in law and human rights and minor in legal studies. Without ICSP, I would not have been able to pursue my studies at the UO, where I have also worked with the UO Alumni Association and the African Students' Associaton. On behalf of all current and future ICSPers, I want to let you know that your gift has made a difference for the ICSP family! Thank you and Go Ducks!
