The Oregon Humanities Center provides the space we all need to dive below the surface and probe more deeply into what it means to be human and live together in society.
The Oregon Humanities Center has been operating since 1983 as a hub for faculty, students, and the public. Thanks to funding from our community, we are able to
- Boost scholars’ and students’ ability to conduct original research in a wide array of fields
- Nurture student learning through innovative course development
- Provide free public lectures, performances, and events that explore challenging issues across cultural and disciplinary boundaries. Past speakers include Naomi Klein, Reza Aslan, and Michelle Alexander.
We cannot do this alone. We rely on critical funding from private donations to foster an active and vibrant intellectual community.
