Help SOJC Students Get Access to Cutting-Edge Technology
At SOJC, our students get a world-class education. But without the state-of-the-art technology in our labs and classrooms, we wouldn’t be able to give them an edge in an increasingly complex world. That’s why we equip our buildings with the tools students will use when they graduate, and for years to come.
Our latest technology project fits that bill—and we need your help to make it happen!
We’re building two multimedia production studios, in Allen Hall and at the new Northeast Portland campus, each with an LED wall and volume stage. These new labs will:
- Enable students to shoot commercials, TV broadcasts, and visual journalism stories using a cutting-edge LED wall, which creates stunning, realistic backgrounds that allow students to “be on location” anywhere in the world.
- Create a turnkey studio with a connected control room so cameras, audio, and teleprompters will be ready to use at a moment’s notice without excessive set-up and tear-down time.
- Allow dedicated space for teaching the SOJC’s new Storycraft courses (required for all incoming undergrad students) and ground them in the basics of using audio, visual, and photography equipment.

Support Our Production Studios
When you donate to the SOJC on Ducks Give Day, you’re not only helping us attract students from around the globe, you’re funding state-of-the-art production spaces to give our students an experience they can’t get anywhere else. This experience with the latest media technologies will prepare them for successful careers in a rapidly evolving industry and give them an advantage when they apply for jobs.
