Miss Ducks Give? It's never too late to make an impact!
Ballmer Institute for Children's Behavioral Health
Join us in addressing the youth mental health crisis through a first-of-its kind training program

The Ballmer Institute for Children’s Behavioral Health aims to transform youth behavioral health by expanding the workforce, starting right here in Oregon, while serving as a national model for system change across the country. The Ballmer Institute’s undergraduate training program in child behavioral health is the first of its kind in the nation, providing undergraduate students with specialized, practical training previously only available in graduate degree programs.

In building this groundbreaking program, the Ballmer Institute is recruiting student trailblazers who will excel in the classroom and in the field delivering effective supports to children and families while increasing the diversity of the behavioral health workforce to meet the needs of all children and families.

Philanthropic support for recruiting and retaining these exceptional students is an investment in building a next generation child behavioral health workforce.

Your gift to the Ballmer Institute Fund for Student Support will provide direct support to our extraordinary students as they work to build a new profession and help elevate the University of Oregon as a national leader in addressing youth mental health.

The Ballmer Institute Fund for Student Support provides:

  • Flexible scholarships to reduce financial barriers and increase access to higher education
  • Workforce stipends for applied training to defray costs associated with field-based learning
  • Housing assistance and emergency funds for students facing financial hardship
  • Pathways into the program for high school and community college students

With the inaugural child behavioral health cohort set to begin this fall, your contribution will help ensure the success of these student pioneers as they join us in our mission to transform the future of children's behavioral health care. Together, we can make access to high-quality mental health support a fundamental right for all children and families in Oregon and across the nation.
