Established in 2001, the University of Oregon Duck Dancers are a talented group of dancers organized under the UO Division of Student life who are recognized for their exceptional passion and impressive athleticism, both on and off the competition stage. Each year, they proudly represent the Ducks at UDA College Nationals and The College Classic in the highly competitive D1A Category. When they are not engaged in rigorous training or fierce competitions, the Duck Dancers actively enjoy supporting Ducks Hockey, showing their enthusiasm both on the sidelines and on the ice. Additionally, they take great pride in giving back to the community by participating in various local events, performances, and volunteer work.
We are a 95% self-funded team at the University and each year we strive to be the best, but monetary situations often hold us back. With the costs rising, currently it costs around $150,000 for our team to function.
As a competitive team, we represent the state of Oregon twice a year at both UDA College Nationals in Orlando, Florida & College Classic in Orlando, Florida. We currently hold the title of 2025 University World Cup Cheerleading Championship Gold Medalists in Jazz & Pom. Below are some of the nationals costs that we have to raise money for:
In total, that’s around $82,200 just for us to be able to compete!
In addition to nationals, we proudly represent the University of Oregon at community events, UO Hockey games, high school events, and more! With that comes the rising costs of things like:
On average, in addition to fundraising, our dancers have to pay team dues. We are trying to make this program accessible to all, so please consider donating to The University of Oregon Dance Team.
